Hey everyone! I'm new to this whole blogging thing so please bear with me while I learn. I'm starting this because it'll be a whole lot easier than sending out monthly emails with pictures/videos of Ethan that take a while to upload.
First off, I just wanted to start from the beginning with me and Keith's story in case yall weren't already familiar. Keith and I met around June 2007 at a party of mutual friends in San Diego where we were both stationed with the Navy, me in the Nurse Corps, and Keith as a helicopter pilot. We were both playing the field but quickly realized there was something special between us that had to be explored further.
We fell in love with San Diego as our backdrop, frequenting the downtown and Pacific Beach scene, as well as some travel to Mexico and Las Vegas. Keith got deployed to South America in May 2009, leaving from Seattle, WA. Ironically, San Diego was his first port visit so we decided to elope and get married May 22nd on Coronado Beach alongside the Hotel Del Coronado. We had our marriage blessed in April 2010 and were so grateful to get to share our love with our family and close friends this time in a formal ceremony and reception. I separated from active duty in July 2009 and resumed my position at the oncology ward at Balboa. We thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our time in San Diego and were REALLY hoping to stay there for Keith's next shore tour but were stationed in Pensacola, FL instead where Keith would be instructing flight students on how to fly helicopters.
We moved to Pensacola, FL, with our Jack Russel, Connell, and bipolar cat, Moses. Pensacola has been a little challenging to get accustomed to but it's definitely had its positives as well. We bought our first house and boat and live in a canal community on the water. The most positive part of Pensacola is that the slower pace has given us the chance to really focus on us as a couple. We knew when we moved here that it would be the perfect time to start a family and welcomed our first child, Ethan Grey, into the world January 12th, 2012. Our life has forever changed and this blog will give me/us the opportunity to keep in better touch since we're not able to be with friends and family as often as we would like. Ethan is changing so much with each passing day and it's so exciting to be a part of such a crazy experience!
